Address: Rm. LG 54, University Science Centre, Department of Chemistry, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shatin, N.T., Hong Kong SAR

Research Interests:
  1. Development of new ambient ionization methods for fast and sensitive analysis of pharmaceutical and biological samples;
  2. Design and implementation of medium pressure interfaces, such as ion funnel and ion funnel trap, for effective transfer of ions from atmospheric pressure region to high vacuum region of the mass spectrometer
  3. Development of novel mass spectrometry dissociation methods for structural analysis of biomolecules
  4. Detection and characterization of bioactive substances in herbal medicines
Instrumentation:
  1. A 4.7 Tesla Ultrahigh Resolution Fourier-transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance Mass Spectrometer (Bruker Daltonic)
    • Equipped with home-made MALDI, nanospray and indirect spray ion source
    • Capable of performing SORI-CID, ECD and BIRD tandem mass spectrometry experiments
  2. A Biflex MALDI-TOF Mass Spectrometer (Bruker Daltonic)
    • Equipped with delay-ion extraction, collision cell and curve-field reflectron
    • Capable of performing MS/MS experiments
