Research Interests:
  1. Fundamentals and applications of
    • Mass spectrometry;
    • Nanospray ESI-MS;
  2. GC-, LC- and CE-MS for environmental, biological, pharmaceutical and Chinese medicinal analyses;
  3. Trace analysis of dioxins and other persistent organic pollutants.
MS Instrumentation:
  1. AutoSpec-Ultima double focusing magnetic-sector mass spectrometer couple with GC and auto-sampler
    • Equipped with EI, CI and FAB ionization sources
    • Capable of performing high-resolution ultra-trace analysis of dioxins, dioxin-like PCBs, PBDEs and PBDD/Fs
  2. Autoflex MALDI-TOF Mass Spectrometer (Bruker Daltonic)
    • Equipped with standard delay-ion extraction and reflectron mirror
    • Capable of performing post-source decay measurement
  3. Quadrupole GC/MS (Agilent 5975B series GC/MSD)
    • Equipped with EI, CI and FAB ionization sources
    • Capable of performing trace analysis of dioxins, dioxin-like PCBs, PBDEs and PBDD/Fs
  4. Agilent 7890B GC & 7000C GCQQQ system with EI & CI source
  5. Agilent 7890B GC & 5977A MS system with EI source, £g-ECD & TCD Detector
  6. Esquire 4000 ion-trap LC/MSn (Bruker Daltonic)
    • Equipped with ESI and APCI ionization sources
  7. Acquity UPLC-triple quadrupole MS (Waters)
    • Equipped with ESI and APCI ionization sources
  8. Thermo Scientific TSQ Quantiva Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer coupled with Dionex UltiMate 3000 Binary RSLC
    • Equipped with ESI and APCI ionization sources
  9. Thermo Scientific Q Exactive Focus Hybrid Quadrupole-Orbitrap Mass Spectrometer coupled with Dionex UltiMate 3000 Binary RSLC
    • Equipped with ESI and APCI ionization sources
  10. Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Fusion Tribrid Mass Spectrometer
    • coupled with Dionex UltiMate 3000 Binary RSLC
    • coupled with UltiMate 3000 RSLCnano
    • Equipped with ESI and Nano ionization sources
    • Equipped with Multiple dissociation techniques-CID, HCD, and ETD-with ion trap or Orbitrap detection
  11. Bruker Rapiflex MALDI Tissuetyper
    • measures for MALDI Imaging
    • Laser repetition rate 10 kHz with pixel size less than 10£gm
